If you manually shift it, and leave it in six, as you slow down, it does not
downshift as early. Mine did the same thing. When going down hill, around
a small bend to a yield sign the downshift to 3d chirped the passenger side
tire every time if it was in "D".
ALso, if you're in "D" but know your in 6th, bump the shifter over and then
brake, same deal... Or basically, any time you know you are going to come
to a stop, slap the shifter over to the right.
I get sloppy downshifts with my 09G in "D", but if I slap it over, it's much
better. Even the 09G has that hard downshift from 4th into 3rd. If I am
a little hard on the brake going to that yield sign, it will still chirp that
tire. I see it 4-5 times a week...
