Default Hi guys

Hi everyone,

I'm rastaman from Arizona. I just purchased my first Jetta, a 2013 TDI Premium and I'm in love with it. I've owned a Passat and Turbo Beetle in the past and I'm thrilled to have a VW again. After driving nothing but Grand Marquis boats for the last ten years the Jetta feels like a sports car--so much more enjoyable to drive. Anyway, I hope to make friends here and learn more about Jettas along the way.

I had a '13 TDI Premium, loved it. The Fender sound system was great.
I ran mine 243,000 miles before buy-back; all original, including the timing
and serpentine belt. RH side axle seal was leaking a pint between each
DSG service once I hit like 160,000 miles. Easy fix compared to an 09G.

If you're in the USA, and need oil filters, I have six of them, and a
fuel filter for sale... Some other diesel supplies...

This editor SUCKS, puts line breaks in that I dind't put there...

Hi Powerslave! Wow, 243K without having to put much money into it is impressive. Oh man, the Fender sound system is great! The only thing that I don't love about the car--and it's only a minor gripe--is how the DSG automatic transmission downshifts at low speeds but I'm getting used it. At work when I drive down the ramps in the parking lot I don't even have to brake going down because of how quickly the car slows down from the down shifting. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

If you manually shift it, and leave it in six, as you slow down, it does not
downshift as early. Mine did the same thing. When going down hill, around
a small bend to a yield sign the downshift to 3d chirped the passenger side
tire every time if it was in "D".

ALso, if you're in "D" but know your in 6th, bump the shifter over and then
brake, same deal... Or basically, any time you know you are going to come
to a stop, slap the shifter over to the right.

I get sloppy downshifts with my 09G in "D", but if I slap it over, it's much
better. Even the 09G has that hard downshift from 4th into 3rd. If I am
a little hard on the brake going to that yield sign, it will still chirp that
tire. I see it 4-5 times a week...
