I searched the forum but could not quite find what I was looking for. I have a 2013 Jetta 2.5 SE and I was recently installing a new radio. I loosened all 8 screws for the AC/heat controls to gain easier access to some wiring, and upon putting everything back together I realized that my vent control knob (floor/dash/defrost etc) was spinning more freely than it should and my airflow is now exclusively through the dash vents.
Upon closer inspection I saw that the cable that was attached to the back of that dial was disconnected. I fished the end of the cable out in hopes of reattachment and saw that it had come completely loose from the other end inside the dash. I am wondering if anyone has had experience with this problem before and would know the best way to access the area behind the dash to try and plug it back in, or at least what the technical name for this cable is called so that I can more accurately search. I will attach a pic of cable below. Thanks for any help!
