Default 2011 VW JETTA brake issues

Hey all,

Don't quite know if this is the correct place to post this but figured it couldnt hurt.

Anyways my car has been parked for the past month or so while I was out of town ( e-brake was not engaged) and I go to drive it today and the driver side wheel brakes will not disengage, I moved forward and the rear tire will move about an inch then lock up and not want to move any further.

Upon further investigation i pulled the tire off and looked into the drum without pulling it off and notice a lot of dust and such. watched the springs as the ebrake was engaged and brake pedal pressed and everything that i could see seemed to move as it should with no lag or issues or weird noises coming from the springs.

I'm pretty sure its just the brake binding up from sitting for so long. But just wanted to see if anyone else had other insight on this.

As well as the best/proper way to approach this issue.

In advance Thanks all for any help

I am wondering if anyone can give me info on why I would be experiencing an issue with my 2011 VW Clutch. The car has under 2000k miles on it.
When I first bought it, the brake vacuum relay failed in under 500 miles and was replaced.
What should be do here? Please advice. ……

With DRUM brakes, if it sat too long with the ER brake on, it rusts stuck.
You have to rock it back and forth and try to get them to release. I hate
drum brakes for this reason. I had an HHR that I used once a week, and when
I released the brake, one side stuck, I put it in gear to move forward then
you'd hear a THUD as it released. SO, with drum brakes, I don't use the ER
brake if it's going to sit for more than a week...

You can spray some brake clean in through the adjuster slot, slop it up good
in there... See if it will release...
